May 12th is a regular school day for all students, faculty, and staff! See the News and Announcements below for further details.
WeatherBug
North Middle School would like to invite you to check the weather from our weather station. We have installed a state-of-the-art weather monitoring system that's so simple even a child can use it. The weather station records 27 different real-time weather measurements. Its live weather data is fed into WeatherBug. WeatherBug is the #1 source for local weather on the Web. Its more than 13 million daily users - with more added every day - have made it the Internet's largest news and information site. The WeatherNet network - four times as large as that of the National Weather Service - is made up of more than 6,000 schools and over 100 TV stations. You can access this information at http://achieve.weatherbug.com/Registration/login.aspx and get up to the minute conditions right from the roof at North Middle. You can even see a picture of current conditions. A camera captures images every fifteen minutes. In addition to capturing images of live conditions, the NetCam offers access to historical image archives (for up to one year).

The archives enable students to observe time-lapse studies and animations of weather systems as they blow in, and the results that take place when temperature and dew points rise and fall, light intensity increases and decreases, seasons change, etc. Please check it out; we think you will find it very informative. Sixth grade science teacher, Kathy Johnston, is our school, district, and state representative to the Achieve's Team of professionals. These individuals are dedicated to weather education in the United States as well as other countries.
